'I gotta see him go': Son of murdered South Carolina woman to attend execution

Victim's family members often feel conflicted about attending executions.

The son of a South Carolina woman who was murdered in 1993 plans to attend the execution of her killer, even though he has mixed feelings about it.

"I understand him being executed won't bring my mom back," said Harold Jones, whose mother, Rosemary, was stabbed to death during a robbery in her home in Conway, South Carolina.

Jones said he has been having nightmares and flashbacks in the lead-up to the execution.

The execution is scheduled for next week.

The man convicted of killing Rosemary Jones, 53, is scheduled to be executed on June 29, 2023.

Harold Jones said he is still struggling with the decision of whether or not to attend the execution, but he feels like he needs to be there for his mother.

"I gotta see him go," he said.

The execution will take place at the Lieber Correctional Institution in Ridgeville, South Carolina.

The execution is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. at the Lieber Correctional Institution in Ridgeville, South Carolina.

Jones said he is not sure what to expect, but he is prepared for anything.

"I'm just going to go in there and see it through," he said.
